What an AI action actually costs us.
We use Claude Sonnet at $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens. Here's a per-action breakdown so you can see the margin you're paying. We charge $0.50/action over your allowance — that's ~10× our cost, covering compute, support, and the team.

- What counts as one AI action?
- A single completed AI feature run — one JD written, one cohort built, one assessment generated. We'll show your remaining balance on every action button so there are no surprises.
- What happens if I run out of AI actions mid-month?
- You can either top up at $0.50 per action (no commitment) or upgrade to the next tier (which prorates). The non-AI features keep working regardless.
- Can I switch between AI / rules-based / no-processing modes?
- Yes — workspace-wide, in /admin/system. The same toggle the platform admin uses is available to recruiters for their own workspaces.
- Is there a discount for non-profits or education?
- Yes — a 50% discount on Pro and Scale for verified non-profits and educational institutions. Email hello@sourcehire.app with documentation.
- Is the Free plan really free?
- Yes. Posting jobs, screening, reviewing applicants, scheduling interviews and answering every applicant cost nothing, with no card and no time limit. The paid tiers add AI features on top; nothing you rely on is taken away if you never upgrade.
