1. Summary
- One-time purchases (Priority Review for 30 days of applications, queue boosts, add-ons) are final once made. They don't renew, so there is nothing to cancel.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account, or with a cancel link we e-mail you if you can't sign in. Charges stop at once; Priority Review stays on until the end of the month you paid for; payments already made aren't refunded.
- Billing mistakes are always fixed. Send a change request with your receipt number. If our records prove the mistake, the refund is issued straight away; anything else is answered by a person within two business days.
- Nothing in this policy takes away a right you have under the law where you live (section 14).
2. What This Covers
This policy covers what applicants buy on Amberrole: Priority Review (one-time, or a monthly subscription where offered), queue boosts, the add-ons offered with them (resume reviews, cover letters, Direct-to-Team and the like), and charges we take through a payment link or our payment terminal for those services. It applies however you paid — card, ACH, wire or e-check.
Employer invoices are governed by the employer's order form and the Terms of Service; a question about one can still be sent as a change request and a person will answer it.
The Priority Review Terms of Service and the Subscriber Agreement say what each product is. This policy says what happens when something about a payment needs to change. The checkout names this policy in the agreement you tick, and every receipt and confirmation e-mail links to it.
3. All Sales Are Final
Priority Review does its work from the moment it starts: your application is placed on the hiring team's priority shortlist straight away. So once a purchase is made, it is not refunded or credited because:
- you changed your mind, or bought it and then decided you didn't need it;
- you didn't get an interview, a reply or an offer — Priority Review is a visibility feature and never promises an outcome;
- the employer closed, filled or paused the role after your Priority Review started;
- you didn't send other applications during your 30 days, or didn't use a subscription month;
- you forgot to cancel a subscription before it renewed (cancelling stops the next charge, not the one already made).
A person still reads every request about these, and we may make an exception — but it is our choice, not a promise, and a request isn't turned down by a machine.
4. Mistakes We Always Fix
If we got the charge wrong, we put it right. That means:
- A duplicate charge — the same amount charged twice for the same thing. We refund the extra charge.
- A charge after you cancelled — a subscription charge made after your cancellation. We refund it in full.
- Priority Review that never turned on — you paid, but your application was never placed on the priority shortlist. We refund it in full.
- A different amount — you were charged more than the checkout showed you. We refund the difference.
- A charge you didn't make — we show you exactly what it was for, look into it, and refund a charge that wasn't authorised.
The first three are checked against our own records the moment you send the request (section 6). The last two are looked at by a person.
5. How to Ask: Change Requests
Everything about a payment — a refund for a mistake, cancelling a subscription, fixing the name or address on a receipt, getting back into your account — starts at /help/change-request. Every receipt and confirmation e-mail has a Request a change link that opens it with your receipt filled in.
- What you need: the receipt number (it starts with INV-, QBST- or TRM-; it is at the top of your receipt and in your confirmation e-mail) and the e-mail address you used at checkout.
- What we ask: what you need help with, and a few short questions about it — for example, when you cancelled, or whether you have already asked your bank to dispute the charge.
- What you can add: a message, and up to three files (a receipt or a statement — PDF, PNG, JPEG, WebP or HEIC, 5 MB each). Please cover all but the last four digits of any card or account number.
- What you get: a reference number (CR-…), an e-mail confirming it, and a page where you can follow the request and reply.
The form checks your receipt and e-mail against our records before you send it, so you can see we found the right purchase. It never tells anyone about a purchase unless the receipt and the e-mail match.
6. How Requests Are Decided
Change requests are decided by fixed rules first — the same rules for everyone, written down here, with no artificial intelligence involved — and by a person whenever the rules can't settle it.
Approved automatically, with the refund issued straight away, when our records show:
- a second charge for something the first one already paid for — the same amount, within 72 hours of the first (the later charge is refunded);
- a subscription charge created after the subscription was cancelled;
- a paid Priority Review order whose application is not on the priority shortlist;
- a refund asked for inside the refund window that a purchase made under the earlier terms was sold with (section 13).
Sent to a person instead, even then, when:
- the receipt and the e-mail don't match, or we can't find the receipt;
- a dispute is open on the payment with your bank, or you tell us you have opened one;
- the refund would be more than $10,000;
- there has already been a refund to you in the last 180 days;
- the payment is more than 120 days old.
Everything else — a different amount, a charge you don't recognise, a correction, account access, and a refund for any other reason — is read by a person. Cancelling a subscription is done straight away when your receipt and e-mail match; otherwise we e-mail a one-click cancel link to the address on the subscription.
Timing: automatic decisions arrive in seconds. A person replies within two business days (Monday to Friday). Nothing is declined automatically: a “no” always comes from a person, with the reason. You can reply on your request's page at any time — replying to a closed request reopens it for a person.
7. How Refunds Are Paid
- To the card you paid with. Card refunds are issued through the processor that took the payment (Square, Stripe or Authorize.net) and usually show on your statement in 5–10 business days.
- Bank payments (ACH, wire, e-check) are refunded by bank transfer to the account the money came from; a person contacts you if we need anything to send it.
- A full refund ends what it paid for. Refunding a Priority Review purchase takes the application off the priority shortlist, ends the 30 days of cover it gave, and cancels a subscription it started. A partial refund (such as the difference on an overcharge) changes nothing else.
- We tell you by e-mail when a refund is issued, and your request's page shows it.
8. Subscriptions and Cancelling
Where Priority Review is sold as a monthly subscription, the checkout shows the terms before you enter a card — the monthly price, the first charge, that it renews on the same date every month until you cancel, how to cancel and the date to cancel by to avoid the next charge — and the subscription only starts if you tick a separate box agreeing to the recurring charge. We e-mail you those terms with your receipt.
How to cancel — any time, including before your first charge, with no call and no waiting period:
- In your account: Subscription → Cancel subscription → Yes, cancel my subscription.
- Without signing in: enter your e-mail at /help/cancel-subscription and we send a one-click cancel link to the address on the subscription. It works once, for 72 hours.
- With a change request — cancelled at once when your receipt and e-mail match.
What cancelling does:
- every future charge stops immediately, and the card we hold for the subscription is deleted in the same step;
- Priority Review keeps covering your new applications until the end of the month you already paid for, then ends; applications you already sent keep it;
- a charge that was already authorised before you cancelled is a separate, approved payment and still completes — it is the last one, and the cancel screen tells you its amount;
- payments already made aren't refunded or prorated (section 3) — but a charge made after you cancelled is refunded automatically (section 6);
- you get an e-mail confirming the cancellation, whichever way you cancelled.
Price: your monthly price is locked for as long as you stay subscribed. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the new subscription is at the price offered then. Failed payments: if a monthly charge fails, the subscription is marked past due; you can still cancel it, and we never add fees. The full terms are in the Subscriber Agreement.
9. One-Time Purchases
A one-time Priority Review purchase covers the application you buy it on and every application you send in the 30 days after it is paid. It is charged once and does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Queue boosts and add-ons are separate one-time charges under the same rules.
10. Bank Payments
When you pay by ACH, wire or e-check, you send the money from your own bank; we never pull money from your account. If you told us the payment was sent and it doesn't arrive by the date shown, Priority Review is paused until it does. If you paid twice, or paid more than the amount shown, send a change request and we return the difference by bank transfer.
11. Disputes and Chargebacks
If a charge looks wrong, please send us a change request first: billing mistakes are usually refunded straight away, and a person answers everything else within two business days — faster than a bank dispute.
Asking us first is never required. You can raise a dispute with your bank or card company at any time, and nothing about using that right affects your account. While a dispute is open, the bank's process decides it: we answer the bank with our records (your receipt, the agreement you ticked, and how Priority Review was delivered) and can't also refund the same charge, because that would pay it back twice. If you'd rather settle it with us, ask your bank to withdraw the dispute and tell us on your request's page.
12. Your Account and Services
Every purchase is in your Amberrole account, under the e-mail you used at checkout:
- My purchases — every order and its receipt;
- Subscription — your plan, next charge, card, charge history and the Cancel button;
- My orders — add-ons such as resume reviews and their delivery;
- My applications — which applications have Priority Review.
Can't sign in? Reset your password at /applicant/forgot-password by uploading the resume file you applied with, or answer a few questions about your applications instead. If neither works, send a change request (“I can't get into my account”) and a person will confirm it's you. You never need to sign in to cancel a subscription (section 8). More in Account access.
13. Changes to This Policy
This policy has a version number and an effective date at the top. A change applies to purchases made after it takes effect; every purchase keeps the terms it was sold under, and your receipt links to them.
Before version 4 of the Priority Review terms (this policy's first version, effective October 21, 2026), checkout and the receipt offered a refund within 7 days of payment. A purchase made under those terms keeps that window. Inside it, send a change request — “I'd like a refund for another reason” — with the receipt, and the refund is approved automatically, as the receipt's refund link did (sent at once for a card payment taken through Square or Stripe; sent by our team for one taken another way). After it, or for anything bought from version 4 on, this policy applies.
14. Your Rights
You are a consumer. Nothing in this policy removes or limits a right you have under consumer law where you live — including any right to cancel, to a refund for a service not provided as described, or to dispute a charge with your card issuer. Where a term here is unenforceable where you live, it does not apply to you.
15. Contact
The fastest way to reach us about a payment is a change request: it reaches a person with your receipt already attached. You can also e-mail support@sourcehire.app. Answers to common questions are in Billing, refunds & cancellations.
